Today, at various times there were policemen on horseback. As late as 11:00 pm this evening, I heard the clop-clop of their hoofs on the pavement. There is a psychology to crowd control by policemen on horses, only there were no crowds. Do not know why they were out so late. Earlier in the day, at the corner a block away, a mounted policeman stopped to chat and let a group of 5 mentally challenged men pat his horse and complement him on his ‘hat’ and exclaim over his mount. The sun was shinning, the horse was shiny, it was a perfect moment of confluence.
