A friend sent me the following, a post by a friend on FB:
“At a recent show the usher asked everyone to scoot to the middle of the section so she could easily seat latecomers. Not one to give up my aisle seat (yes, it was assigned seating), I politely said no, and so did the woman next to me. “Well, I just want to make you aware people may have to climb over you to get to their seats if they get here late,” the usher responded in a less than polite tone.
“Well,” said the woman next to me, “They’ll just have to haul their asses and get here on time.” “
Now the reason it was sent to me, is because I have voiced more than once the idea of ‘waiting for late-comers’ as a reason to delay the opening of an event makes no sense to me. If late, then they miss whatever happened between being on time and the time of arrival. Why penalize those that show up on time!
