In the West Village drug stores were few to begin with, and then one closed. The remaining drugstore, is meeting the new demand and taking more of a market share, by remodeling. But remodeling while the store is open. I have never seen anything like it. The shoppers walk among aisles with workmen working away, store personnel stocking new shelves and rearranging product and tarps and plastic creating false divisions. And everyone seems to be getting what they need.
