Skye Ferrante
Met this artist on the street in SoHo, 2010 Revisited him- he is now well established. His continuous strand wire portraits are of real people. The titled ones are of burlesque personalities. These are signed with his signature in the bends in the corner. His work is wondrous to behold.
Local Library
There should have been a ‘before’ photograph. This beautiful old building houses the Public Library on 6th Avenue and 10th Street and it is stunning. Look at the architectural details.
Lego
The Lego store never ceases to amaze. The one at Rockefeller Center is always a mob scene at the holidays. The store in the Flatiron District is sane and quite empty. This is a wall mural in the street side window. Amazing the use of the tiny bricks to make a ‘billboard” type scene.
Ice Sculpting or Carving
This was taking place in a public space near Bryant Park – 43rd and Avenue of the Americas. He begins with making the pattern on the block of ice, then he carves a bit, and then he goes after the design with an electric chain saw.
Buddhist Temple
The building behind the stoplight and under the sign board, is a temple. Rather unassuming. But there it is, none the less.
No Idea
This sign board has the words, ‘adult swim’ in it, but for the rest, I have no idea to what it refers. This is not the first one.
