Spotted along the side of the road, in a recessed parking lot, in Sheridan Oregon. Go figure. It was right before the traffic sign for the turn off to Roy Rodgers Road.

A 3 Syllable Word
Every time I use the directional voice on my phone, she makes ‘Portland’ into a 3 syllable word: ‘take the exit toward Por-t-land’, she instructs.
Subtle Suggestion
Oregon/Portland recycles. The large green bin on the left is for yard debris. The middle blue one is for plastics/paper/glass and the tinier third one is for household garbage. And they remain curbside in a lot of neighborhoods. Not particularly adding to the ‘curb appeal’.
And This Means…
This is on the street. Not all streets, just some. In front of my car. These iconic signs are supposed to be translatable to anyone. Does this mean, park your bicycle in the attic of your house? Only if your rear tires blow? Only if it is a ‘boys’ bike?
The Odds?

Fading Fast
Not the snow, but my belief that this will be gone enough in 24 hours from the time of these photos last night, for this city to function on Monday. I am holding my breath.
Portland!
The downtown place: Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and all those tree-named streets and alphabetically named streets [on the ‘other side’ of Burnside]. During the weekdays, it is a city. There are pedestrians, who wait for ‘walk’ and stop at ‘talk to the hand’. There is a ‘rapid transit- trolley’ system and a bus system, one way …
Note To Self
Do not mention the rain today. Spoke with a couple of dear friends in the City today and they are cold, and the windchill is making it feel colder, and the streets are full of Superbowl fans, and the weather is bringing snow etc etc etc. So what’s a little wetness and 42 degrees.
Minding Your Own Business
