How HOT?

Makes Dante’s  Inferno play like a walk in the park.

Half as many umbrellas are up as if it were raining.

8 out of 10 females are wearing shorts.

How do the businessmen do it in those suits and shirts and ties around the neck?  They walk the same streets as the rest of us.

Even construction workers are toting yoga bottles of water!

The birds are silent in the trees.

No smokers standing outside of buildings.

You ride the bus just to catch a cool break.

The subways feel like saunas with hot air blowing through.

If it were not for the slight breeze daily, we would all be baking like sand in the desert.

Sitting at an outside restaurant table is only doable after 7:30 pm.

Hats have become the de rigueur.

Where you meet and how you get there are of new importance.

Seriously?

These are brand new, never worn, offered for sale in a very upscale boutique. Yes they do look as if they have been worn by a careless teenager for 3 months.  All one needs to complete the outfit are a pair of $495 ripped jeans.

Liberty on the 4th!

$30 million dollars later, and the Lady – the Statue of LIberty which has been closed down since October 2011 reopens today, on July 4th.  Hoards of people and a $17 ferry ticket will be the price to visit on this momentous occasion.
