Smoke

At first glance it was just a late 20’s young woman on a skate board, followed by the same age male, gliding down a small village street on a weekend afternoon. Taking a second look, I saw the lighted cigarette in her mouth.  For me, completely incongruent!

Totally Trustworthy

Apparently in the next door apartment building, someone moved out on Monday.  Tuesday these boxes on dollies were left behind.  On Thursday, my astute neighbor reported their existence to the building super… as left behind by the moving company.  Two things:  1. how does one feel about the moving company leaving these behind!!  2. The fact that they stayed there, unmolested for 72 hours, that is testament to the civility of NYC.

Watering

This action caught me by surprise, but it makes sense.  This truck of water is spraying the small garden that is public, but not accessible to foot traffic.  His aim was accurate and in the blistering heat it was just what was needed.

Trained

This pigeon, until someone catches him and tosses him back on the street, is walking the great expanses of Penn Station.  He swaggers amongst the passengers who are seated in the waiting area.  He doesn’t fly away or beg, he just makes his presence felt.  And he was at work early, this was 6 am.

David Dressed

MIssoni and an Artist titled Edmo have duplicated ‘David’ and dressed him in recognizable Missoni stripes, in the Meatpacking District.  If you go to the Edmo website you’ll see more of his work, and also google for close-up photos of the statue. Missoni just had a wonderful ‘piece’ at the Met, this continues her exposure to the general public.  This piece brings a light mood to this heavily pretentious area.

Ice Cream

This food truck is all about artisan ice cream and they do a land office business. The flavors are unique: tea, basil and others of that genre and the price reflects the uniqueness.  What I love is the color of the truck: french vanilla.
