Reaching the funeral parlor look again… love it!
Life as it unfolds with all its surprises….
“Disease prevention is a public good. [however] from the point of view of the American culture the problem was, in disease prevention there was no money in it. Thus, find a way to make it pay. We are going to do privately the government business as did Blackwater. As a local health officer I was unable to get the tens of thousands of dollars for some disease stopping machine, in the private sector people would throw tens of millions at an idea. [extrapolate how the blood machine hoax came to be]
Not an easy read, you might need pen and paper to keep the story straight, However, I strongly recommend you stay with it if you really want to understand how the world ended up where we are today vis a vis the pandemic. Michael Lewis, the author, is an awesome researcher and you will likely not find a better compilation of facts and explanations. You can read it from the library, audio, or hard cover. but may I suggest read it you must.
If it was impossible to see the entire post, that is due to the YouTube embedded info about the flock. Just click on the words on the bridge and it will take you to the posting…..
This huge flock catches me by surprise each year, I seem to forget they were here exactly one year ago. It is not the floating around in the cold water, in such large groups I find enchanting, it is when they all take flight when I come out the door for my bicycle. They take flight to the North, this never varies.
You know the excitement when you buy a new rack for your automobile. I am assuming there is some excitement. Today I purchased new saddle bags for my bicycle. Same thrill. This is no simple procedure. I had ordered a ‘set’ on line, but they proved to be smaller than I thought 30 liter was. I returned them. After three years of using the same ones I now have a new 40 liter set. Feels like I turbo’d my bike.
This after having a ‘spring check-up’* last week. Life is good
It is anyone’s guess what is in store for 2022.
There was the hindsight of 2020,
the confusion and violence of 2021,
Will we gather our acts to save each other and the planet?
That is my wish and hope.
May you find peace in the process and among the pieces.
There it lay; sewn up at the sides, top and bottom, apparently someone’s attempt to make a pillow front. Again, discarded handiwork. The image is of the most descriptive building in the City. it didn’t beg to be rescued, I was on it the minute it poked up from under all the balls of yarn. It was one-third smaller than pictured here. Chose a 10 cent frame from the nearby stack, I thought might work. Brought it all to the cashier. She looked at it, turned to her co-worker and said “Oh just give it to her'”. I was gratefully stunned. Brought it home, removed all the stitchings and all the auxiliary pieces of fabric. Ironed it. Place the frame around it. Voila!
