More Tree

Two days later, another second-hand store was closing out their holiday wares and I purchased two strings of outdoor lights.  I already had the extension cord because I am the proud owner of not only a weed-wacker, but also a leaf blower.  Serious tools with long electric cords. So I laid the lights in the branches, plugged it in and again, Voila.  Only you should see it at night.  it is a delight.  it would be competing with the waning moon, except for the fact it is clouded over, with a possibility of snow.  I have no idea what cost this little display for the neighbors will add to my electric bill.  Any guesses?

Said in Passing

A few months ago, I mentioned to the neighbor girl that I wanted to have an outside Christmas tree at the Holiday time.  I’d never had one previously and I don’t know why the idea came up at the time.  Two days ago i was second-handing and there were trees being sold for $5.  They were short and i could lift them.  So I bought one, put it in the backseat of my car and took it home.  Using my handy pruning saw, the next day, I cut the trunk again and put it in a bucket of water.  Hours later I put it in the stand.  Then I weighted it down with rocks so that it will not blow over.  Voila.  here it is.
