Why does it matter as a presidential candidate? No one cared when Clinton seduced an intern when he was already President! And in the White House, no less. These things don’t matter to the American electorate any more. Maybe sad, but true. Yes, we dislike Trump, but let’s find substantive criticisms to dislike and not condemn him for personal choices that have no bearing on his policies. I don’t like the man either, but I think there have been peccadilloes on both sides that don’t seem to affect voters. We ( the country as a whole) are not condemning the Hillary for lying, accepting money from egregious sources for the foundation, etc. Ethics in America are in a sad state, my dear.

Agonistic urban birds: elevated territorial aggression of urban song sparrows is individually consistent within a breeding period
Urban birds often more vigorously defend their territories during simulated intrusions than do their rural counterparts, but the factors responsible remain unclear. To address this issue, we investigated whether the disparity in territorial aggression of urban and rural male song sparrows, Melospiza melodia, is individually consistent within a breeding period. Additionally, to better understand the physiological and ecological factors underlying this behavioural difference, we examined whether territoriality was associated with plasma testosterone, a hormone that contributes to elevated aggression in vertebrates, and/or conspecific density, a factor often positively related to aggression. The urbanization-related difference in territoriality was individually consistent within a breeding period. However, the elevated territorial aggression of urban birds was not associated with plasma testosterone and, counter to our predictions, conspecific density was lower in urban compared with rural areas. We suggest that other aspects of testosterone signalling and features of the socio-ecological environment, such as the availability of breeding sites, may underlie increased territorial aggression in urban birds.

A personal note.
Always taking classes to ‘do it better’ to succeed, is part of the cost of working as an actor. In the six years I have been here I have taken hundreds of classes. Some of these classes are a ‘one time shot’ in the presence of a casting director. In every class, there is one actor who comes in, sits in the chair in front of the camera and ‘nails it’. It has never been me, until last night. My first. What a sense of achievement. All those other classes and teachings and auditions and hard work came together to have the CD say, “That was it, Perfect.”

ALL THE WAY – the play, the movie, a resurgence of information about Lyndon B Johnson, a figure of US history about whom I should know a lot more. All I did know was the opinion my parent had, and so that was enough to consign him to a backseat of history. Last week, visited J, a long time friend who I had not seen for a decade, who now lives near Austin, Texas. She took me to the LBJ Library on the grounds of the University of Texas, Austin. What a marvelous exhibition. Yes, he clearly was a blustery man but also after 1957 had a 180 degree change of heart and with MLK worked tirelessly on making steps to leaps forward in Civil Rights for Blacks in America. He only served one term and the office took its toll on him What a well illustrated moment in time.
An Italian Scene
On the way to the Theatre in the Village, saw the three’s company having a chat beside the wooden door leading to a small garden. It reminded me of an Italian village scene.
Again, It Has Been a Moment
4th of July came and went, in the rain. The rain thinned the crowds, but it didn’t stop the fireworks.
Last week we had ‘feels like’ heat of near 100. That is HOT when it is cuddled between tall buildings. At times, the wind does blow down the avenues providing temporary relief. The wonderful fact that my apartment does not over heat, or hold heat is a blessing.
Although it is summer vacation time, the streets are oddly empty. Is it because the City folks with cars have driven off to their summer places and the tourists have arrived by some type of mass carrier?
It is a wonderful time to be in the City.
And yes, thank you, I had a lovely birthday- yet another one! When do they stop? OK I know the answer to that one!!

What Are Those?!
When you go on Youtube and type: american express maxe you will come to three american express adverts featuring me. What are they? I have wanted to be a spokesperson for amex for the longest time. I believe in the company. The CEO is a man of integrity, they really believe the customer comes first and they are without doubt in my mind- the best credit card company out there. And I believe that they are missing the senior market. I want to bring it to their attention. I have a friend who is friends with said CEO and when I told him my idea, he said, “Make it and I’ll get it seen”. So I engaged my wildly smart, fun, intellectual branding nephew. He wrote the scripts, filmed, edited and placed them with me for delivery to amex. I did. Nothing happened. Followed up and nothing happened again. So rather leave them in the proverbial ‘bottom left desk drawer’ decided to put them out there for the world to view, to see if there was a positive reaction to the idea. So far so good. When the numbers reach something of significance, whatever that is…Will try again with amex. Hey, I’ve had a card from amex since 1971! That’s longer than any relationship in my entire life! Bare none!!
