View Upon Arrival

Stepped out of the door of the deplanning ramp and there it was, the sun caught on the tail of a plane on the tarmac. No saw it at first, but as I stopped to make a picture then others joined in. Unfortunately because of the glass, the hot orange of the sun is not visible to the camera as it was to the eye.

Heard Me

A number of months ago, I asked the shop owner of the Golden Dragon if he would one time, buy potted plants from his wholesaler. I didn’t want to tell him that to purchase them from a plant store or florist was expensive and also kept to myself the information that occasionally I would like to buy something that lasts longer than a week. For a while my suggestion seemed to fall on deaf ears. Then one day, plants! And plants it has been. As I look out the window today, I see not only the display you see here, but the risers are filled and more plants on the ground to the left of the front door. His cut flowers have been weaned back to just what he has inside in the windows. It is rather fun to think that I was right and now that he has tried it, his success is prompting him to purchase more. And of course his inventory is not as vulnerable as cut flowers. Obviously too I was not the only one who wanted an ‘indoor garden’. Rather pleased with myself and him for hearing me.

I’m Baaaack!

What a day is was Backed up my computer, because I was having problems with my phone.
Headed out to the Apple Store Genius Bar. Fixed the phone. Shut computer off. Returned home.
Pushed the start button, but the computer would not turn on.
Tried it every which way and back.
Returned to the Genius Bar first thing the next morning.
Noticed that the computer case had lost a screw and was ‘swollen’ at the edge.
Apple opens and says ‘It’s gone”.
“What do you mean, dead?”
Dead was the pronouncement!
But I was heading out of town the next morning.
Which I did, without my laptop.
Returned from “away”. Am now again “back east” and took dead computer to second opinion store.
The techie looks at it, and says, “Sorry it’s dead. It’s too old. Even if we wanted to fix it for you, there are no parts available. Well, maybe you could find some guy someplace who has parts…but what are you paying for then?”
I looked him in the eye, “Would you tell your mom/grandma this? Would you give them no hope?” He looked taken aback. “Well, yes. I would walk them right over to the sales department and introduce them to Heraldo to help them find a replacement.”
Was not on my agenda… but here it is…
A working computer!

Anyone Know The Meaning of the Brand?

Pass this little shop on my way to the bank, the 1 line stop and anytime walking down Bleecker. Always caught my eye. Decided to quench my curiosity. Popped into the shop and asked the salesman what the name meant. Astonished I would ask, he had no idea. He waited for the manager to appear. It was the original concept of the brand: 7 styles of jeans to fit everyone/anyone. What a letdown. I had a much grander story in my head

Free

Every summer it is in Central Park, it is free for the those that go to the trouble to either pay a premium to [don’t you love that contrast] to the Public Theatre or stand-on-line for a goodly amount of time to score a ticket. However you get in, it is a delight to watch. Other places around the States now do it too… Shakespeare in the ______ fill in the space.
